This page is going to news about things happening all around Scotland such as new parks, upcoming skateparks and other stuff.

Skatepark News

This part is going to be on news of all the skateparks that have been built, or being built, and that are planning to be built.

Forfar

Money is starting to be raised in Forfar, with strong support coming from everyone, especially the Lord Provest who is keen on having a skatepark built. The people raising money for the park have had some quotes, and are checking out other Scottish parks for ideas. Hopefully development shall start soon.

Montrose

There has a piece of land been found for the montrose skatepark, and the group who are organising it are collecting the funds. The initial drawings for the park are done, and so far the skaters are happy with it.

Dundee

Rumour has it that the new Factory skatepark should be finished by about November this year, but remember these are only rumours. The new Factory is getting its own building made specifically to fit everything in so it should hopefully be better than the present Factory. On other Dundee news, the plans for the outdoor skatepark being built in Dudhope park are viewable in the Dundee skateshops, Ozzy's and Effective Edge.

I just found a website with plans of the new Dundee outdoor skatepark. Click on the link for it to appear.

There has been a new upgrade in the current Factory skatepark. The funbox in the middle of the two quarter pipes has had a new flatbannk on one of the sides, which looks good and skates really well and fast. I hope this doesnt mean they will put the entry price up like they did when it got updated last time.

On other Factory news, the beginner sessions that used to be on Monday 6-8, Wednesday 6-8 and Saturday 9-12 have all been changed to mixed sessions except for the Monday session.

Dumbarton

The Dumbarton is constantly being worked on to complete hall 2. Also, the Red Bull Vert ramp has almost finished its stay at Dumbarton, so hopeully a new vert ramp will be built.

New Releases

This part is about new video releases that come from Scottish skaters.

A new video that has been released is Concretely content and is filed in the Dundee, Perth and Arbroath areas. Should be worth a look. You can probably pick it up at any good store such as Ozzys(Dundee), North 57(Perth) or Focus(Edinburgh). You can probably get it through mail order as well. Thats all the new video releases for just now.

By the way, if you are after a good skate video I would recommend Salt n Sauce, which you can get from Focus in Edinburgh or off of www.focuspocus.co.uk.

Pro Skaters

SAVIER HAS CLOSED DOWN. That means that pro skater John Rattray, who had pro shoes out with savier had to leave. Luckily, he has found a new home with Osiris shoes.
